Volvo’s new Concept XC Coupe has been revealed ahead of its Detroit 2014 debut. The new Volvo XC Coupe Concept features designs gesture from last year’s Concept Coupe and gives strong clues of how the next-generation XC90 large SUV will look, as Volvo senior vice president of design Thomas Ingenlath explains:
“Volvo Concept XC in another demonstration of what our new architecture is capable of. It brings us a bit closer to the all-new XC90,” he said in the leaked press release. “But it goes without saying that a three-row, seven-seater will have a larger and fuller look than this four-seater. Volvo Concept XC is more of a Cross Country version of a sleek sports wagon,”
The sporty crossover features “scalable product architecture” with rugged, utilitarian design, knobby tires, a high ride height, lower body cladding, and orange rubberized that focus to small details. Whether a production version of the three-door, four-seat Concept XC Coupe will become a available remains unknown but will debut at next week’s Detroit Auto Show.
